Get Stremio on your Android phone or tablet via Google Play or direct APK download. Supports Android 5.0 and above on all major device brands.
If your Android device has Google Play, this is the recommended method. You'll get automatic updates and the cleanest install experience.
Find the Google Play Store app on your home screen or app drawer and open it.
Type "Stremio" in the search bar. Look for the official app by Smart-Code Ltd with the purple diamond icon.
Tap the Install button and wait for the download to finish. The app will appear on your home screen.
Use this method if your device doesn't have Google Play (Amazon Fire tablets, some Chinese Android phones, etc.), or if you prefer to install a specific version manually.
Before installing an APK file on Android, you need to allow your device to install apps from sources other than Google Play. Here's how:
On Android 8 and above:
On Android 7 and below:
Once Stremio is installed, open it and sign in with your Stremio account. If you don't have one, you can create a free account at stremio.com.
After signing in, head to the Addons section and install the content sources you want. Your watchlist and history will automatically sync with your other Stremio devices.
APK won't install: Make sure you enabled "Install unknown apps" for the app you used to open the APK. Try the armeabi-v7a version if arm64 fails.
"App not installed" error: You may have a conflicting version installed. Uninstall the existing Stremio app first, then try again.
Video doesn't play: Check that your addons are installed and enabled. Some streams may require a VPN depending on your region.
