Download and install Stremio on your Windows PC in under two minutes. Works on Windows 10 and Windows 11, both 64-bit and ARM versions.
Stremio runs on any reasonably modern Windows PC. Here's what you need:
Two versions are available. If you're not sure which one to pick, go with the x64 version — it works on the vast majority of Windows PCs.
For all Intel and AMD processors. This covers most PCs and laptops made after 2010.
Download x64For ARM-based Windows devices like Snapdragon X laptops and Surface Pro X.
Download ARM64Open your Downloads folder and locate the file named StremioSetup-v5.0.21_x64.exe (or arm64).
Double-click the installer file. If Windows shows a SmartScreen prompt, click "More info" and then "Run anyway".
Windows will ask for permission to make changes to your device. Click "Yes" to allow the installation to continue.
The installer runs automatically and takes about 30–60 seconds. Stremio will open once it's done.
When Stremio opens for the first time, you'll be prompted to create a free account or log in if you already have one.
Stremio is an organizer and player — addons are what bring the content. Without at least one addon, the library will be empty.
Click the puzzle piece icon in the top navigation bar inside Stremio.
You'll see a list of available addons. Popular options include Cinemeta (movie/show metadata) and community streaming addons.
Addons install instantly — they run on remote servers, so nothing heavy downloads to your PC.
Stremio won't open after install: Try right-clicking the desktop shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator".
SmartScreen blocks the installer: This is a Windows security feature for unrecognized apps. Click "More info" → "Run anyway". The app is safe.
Video won't play: Make sure your addons are properly installed and enabled. Some streams may not be available in your region.
App crashes on startup: Try deleting the Stremio folder from %APPDATA% and reinstalling fresh.
